Welcome to Wise Up!

A multi-media educational toolkit to support teachers and school health professionals

The resources contained within the Wise Up Toolkit have been developed by Sanofi Pasteur MSD in conjunction with education professionals and the School and Public Health Nurses Association (SAPHNA). The Personal Social and Health Education (PSHE) Association has reviewed the materials and provided feedback.

New for 2015, selected elements of HPV Girl Talk available with translations.

The toolkit provides a flexible set of resources to educate, inform and drive positive action and aims to support teachers and school health professionals to raise the awareness of young people from KS3/S1&2 about HPV and good sexual health.

Human Papillomavirus (HPV) and the
link with cervical cancer -girls

Intended to be used with girls only and can be used as a unit of work in Year 8, as part of girls’ introduction to the HPV National Vaccination Programme

Good sexual health and sexually transmitted
infections (STIs) -girls and boys

Aims to help young people have a responsible attitude towards sexual health and is intended to be included in a wider, developmental, spiral SRE programme for secondary education.

At all times it is understood that the professionals using the materials will be responsible for ensuring a school’s sex and relationship education (SRE) policy guidelines are met; that they will have a good understanding of the emotional needs and prior knowledge of the pupils with whom they are working, and that the level of detail provided is appropriate to the age, maturity and requirements of individual pupils.
